In line with the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government's steadfast commitment to generating maximum employment opportunities for the state's youth, Finance, Excise and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 14 newly recruited personnel in the Excise and Taxation Department.

The new inductees include 13 clerks and one Sewadar, marking another successful step forward in the administration's ongoing mission to empower the youth through meaningful public sector jobs. During the event, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said, "Eleven of the clerks have been selected strictly on merit through the Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board (PSSSB).

The remaining two clerks and one Sewadar have been appointed on compassionate grounds, ensuring critical livelihood support to families facing difficult circumstances." Highlighting the Bhagwant Mann Government's priority to job creation, he continued, "Under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann, our government has made transparent, merit-based job creation our absolute top priority.

We are systematically filling vacancies across all departments to ensure our youth can serve their own state with dignity." The Finance Minister asserted, "Our initiative to provide maximum jobs is not merely about filling vacancies, but about transforming governance and revitalising the state's economy.

Tens of thousands of youngsters have already secured government jobs through a completely fair and transparent recruitment process since CM Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government assumed office, fulfilling a key promise made to the people of Punjab.”

During the appointment letter distribution ceremony at his office, Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, accompanied by Excise and Taxation Commissioner Jitendra Jorwal, warmly congratulated the newly recruited employees on entering public service.

He urged them to discharge their duties with the utmost honesty, efficiency and dedication, reminding them that they are now an integral part of a governance system that prioritises public welfare, transparency and clean administration.
