A delegation comprising Panchayat representatives and farmers from Balasmand and around 10 villages of Hisar district met Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources and Women and Child Development Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry in Chandigarh and apprised her of various public welfare and agriculture-related issues affecting the region.

The delegation particularly raised concerns regarding the availability of canal water, the strengthening of irrigation infrastructure, and other issues concerning farmers. Taking serious note of the farmers’ concerns, the Minister immediately convened a meeting with senior officers of the Irrigation Department and facilitated a direct interaction between the farmer representatives and departmental officers.

During the meeting, the farmers elaborated on issues related to canal water supply in their areas and presented their other local demands. The meeting was attended by the Engineer-in-Chief, Chief Engineers, and other senior officers of the Irrigation Department.

The Minister directed the officers to ensure the prompt resolution of all issues raised by the farmers and to further strengthen and streamline the canal water distribution system. Smt. Choudhry said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the State Government is continuously working for the welfare of farmers and the development of the agriculture sector.

She said it is the government's priority to ensure that farmers do not face any difficulty in accessing irrigation water. She directed officers to address farmers’ grievances with sensitivity and urgency so that agricultural activities are not affected, and adequate irrigation water is made available on time.

The Minister assured the delegation that all their demands and concerns would be examined seriously and necessary action would be taken. The farmer representatives expressed gratitude to the Minister and appreciated the government's positive and responsive approach towards resolving farmers’ issues.
