Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation and Minister of State for Culture, Rao Inderjit Singh, on Sunday unveiled the statue of Martyr Arun Kumar Yadav in Khandora village of Rewari district. Martyr Arun Kumar Yadav laid down his life in service of the nation on October 4, 2023, while displaying exceptional courage and bravery during a natural disaster in Sikkim.

He was martyred while making efforts to rescue civilians and his fellow personnel during the calamity. Bawal MLA Dr. Krishan Kumar, Kosli MLA Anil Yadav, and BJP District President Vandana Popli were also present on the occasion.

The Union Minister announced a grant of Rs. 21 lakh for the development of the village. Addressing the gathering, Rao Inderjit Singh said that honouring brave soldiers who make the supreme sacrifice for the nation is the duty of every citizen.

He stated that Martyr Arun Kumar Yadav dedicated his life to the service of the country and has set an inspiring example for the youth. In recognition of his outstanding service, he was awarded eight medals by the Army, reflecting his indomitable courage and dedication.

He also served with distinction for one year in Lebanon under the United Nations Interim Force, displaying exemplary courage and commitment. The nation will always remember his sacrifice, and future generations will continue to draw inspiration from his patriotism and sense of duty.

The Union Minister said that the youth of southern Haryana have always been at the forefront of serving the nation by joining the armed forces. He also appreciated the mothers and sisters who have encouraged their sons and brothers to serve in the military and safeguard the country’s borders.

On this occasion, Rao Inderjit Singh assured the mother, wife, and children of Martyr Arun Kumar Yadav that the government stands firmly with them at every step. During the programme, villagers submitted a memorandum seeking the naming of the Government School after Martyr Arun Kumar Yadav, linking village ponds with canal water, and fulfilling other developmental demands.

The Union Minister listened to their requests with seriousness and assured them that the matters would be considered positively.
