The oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Mayor and Councilors of the Panchkula Municipal Corporation was held today at Indradhanush Auditorium in Sector-5, Panchkula. Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
On the occasion, Ambala Divisional Commissioner Sh Sanjeev Verma administered the oath to the newly elected Mayor and Councilors. Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini congratulated the newly elected Mayor of Panchkula Municipal Corporation, Sh Shyam Lal Bansal, and all the Councilors on their victory and assumption of new responsibilities.
He also thanked the aware and responsible citizens of Panchkula for electing a leadership committed to development and public service. The Chief Minister urged the newly elected Mayor and Councilors to ensure that the city’s development roadmap remains completely people-centric.
Interacting with the Councilors, the Chief Minister said that the people have entrusted them with the responsibility of serving for the next five years. He advised them to remain connected with the public, listen to their grievances, and make development their foremost priority.
He assured that no shortage of funds would be allowed to hamper the development of Panchkula. He further stated that the government’s goal is to transform Panchkula into a clean and green city. In this regard, he emphasized the need to take Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0’ to every street and every sector of Panchkula, while further strengthening the resolve for a ‘Green Panchkula.
