The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) dealt a major blow to the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress in Faridkot. On Thursday, several senior leaders from these parties, impressed by AAP’s public welfare policies and the development works being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, bid farewell to their old parties and joined AAP.
MLA Gurdit Singh Sekhon formally inducted all these leaders into the party and welcomed them by presenting siropas. MLA Sekhon said that seeing the growing popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party and its public-oriented work, people from every section of society are joining the party today.
He said that the joining of these experienced leaders would further strengthen the party in Faridkot. Prominent leaders who joined the party include Narinder Pal Singh Ninda (current President, Municipal Council Faridkot), Amit Kumar ‘Jugnu’ Jain (Working President, District Congress Committee Faridkot, Secretary Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee and Block President), Naveen Arora (District Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party and Assembly In-charge Faridkot constituency), and Sukhjinder Singh ‘Sukhi’ Bhalwan (District President, Shiromani Akali Dal Sanyukt, Faridkot).
The leaders who joined the Aam Aadmi Party unanimously said that they were dissatisfied with the functioning of the traditional parties and had taken this decision after being impressed by AAP’s anti-corruption policies. They assured that they would work with full dedication for strengthening the party and serving the people.
