Haryana Health, Medical Education, Research and AYUSH Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao on Thursday dedicated various development projects worth around Rs. 2.86 crore aimed at strengthening healthcare services in Gurugram district to the public. Pataudi MLA, Smt. Bimla Chaudhary was also present on the occasion. The Health Minister said that since Gurugram is the most populous district of Haryana, healthcare services are being continuously expanded there.
She said that keeping in view the increasing population and rapid urbanization, the government is consistently working towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure so that better, accessible, and quality medical facilities can be provided to the public. Through new hospital buildings, sub-health centres, Block Public Health Units, and modern medical facilities, the reach of healthcare services is being continuously strengthened in both rural and urban areas.
She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the state government is bringing historic changes in the health sector. The government’s objective is to ensure timely and better healthcare facilities for every citizen.
With this aim, special focus is being laid on expanding health infrastructure, ensuring availability of modern equipment, and improving the quality of medical services. She further said that Gurugram is the district in the state where the highest number of sub-centres have been established, enabling people in rural areas to access primary healthcare services near their homes.
Ms. Arti Singh Rao said that several new development projects are also in the pipeline to expand healthcare services and provide better medical facilities to the public in Gurugram. She informed that a new Primary Health Centre (PHC) will be established in the Baghnakhi area of the district, while a new Sub Health Centre is proposed in Ghamroj village.
These projects will further strengthen healthcare facilities in rural areas. The Health Minister said that special focus has been given in the current financial year’s budget to further strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Gurugram district.
In this regard, eight new sub-centres will be established in the district. In addition, three new Primary Health Centres (PHCs) will be set up at Ransika, Reetha, and Sidhrawali.
She said that with the establishment of these institutions, a large population of nearby areas will benefit from improved healthcare services. Ms. Arti Singh Rao further said that with the objective of strengthening healthcare services, two health institutions in the district will be upgraded as Community Health Centres (CHCs).
These include PHC Daulatabad and PHC Wazirabad. After upgradation, specialist healthcare services, modern medical equipment, and better treatment facilities will be available at the local level, said the Health Minister. The Health Minister directed Health Department officers to ensure regular monitoring of all development projects related to the health sector in the district.
She said that along with completing the projects within the stipulated timeframe, special attention should also be paid to the quality of construction work so that people can receive better and durable healthcare facilities. She further directed the officers to periodically review every project related to the expansion of healthcare services and ensure that no negligence occurs in execution.
The Minister said that the government’s priority is to provide modern and quality healthcare facilities to the public, and therefore all development works should be completed with transparency and high-quality standards. On this occasion, the Health Minister inaugurated a Block Public Health Unit (BPHU) established at Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital, Heli Mandi, at a cost of around Rs. 50 lakh.
This unit will function as a diagnostic hub for Pataudi Block, where various laboratory testing facilities including HB, ESR, RBS, dengue, malaria, and blood group testing will be available. Besides this, the Health Minister also inaugurated the General Sub Health Centre building constructed at Chandu village at a cost of around Rs. 89.45 lakh, along with newly constructed Sub Health Centre buildings at Noorgarh and Mehchana villages.
The Noorgarh Sub Health Centre building has been constructed at a cost of around Rs. 81.89 lakh, while the Mehchana Sub Health Centre building has been completed at a cost of around Rs. 64.83 lakh. These projects will improve both the accessibility and quality of primary healthcare services in rural areas.
