The District Administration Poonch and Poonch Police organised a Friendly Cricket Match at Sports Stadium today under the banner of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to promote fitness, sportsmanship and drug-free society awareness. The match between DC XI and SSP XI witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers, officials and spectators.
Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma and SSP Shafqat Hussain Bhat also participated in the match, encouraging youth towards healthy and disciplined lifestyles. Batting first, SSP XI scored 149 runs in 20 overs. In reply, the DC XI successfully chased the target and registered an impressive 7-wicket victory.
Dr. Jontay was declared Man of the Match for his brilliant innings of 56 runs, while Pervaiz Malik Afridi scored 46 runs and Pawan Kumar contributed 27 runs for DC XI. The programme concluded with the message: “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”
