The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, is continuously making efforts to promote sports in the state and guide youth in the right direction. As part of this initiative, a modern, well-equipped Chief Minister Playground constructed in village Sadhowal at a cost of ₹43.22 lakh was inaugurated today by Punjab Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker S. Jai Krishan Singh Rouri.

Addressing the gathering during the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Speaker Rauri said that the role of youth in Punjab’s development is extremely important and encouraging them towards sports is the need of the hour. He added that playgrounds are not just places for playing games but also help strengthen discipline, healthy living, and team spirit.

He further stated that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is working on a large scale to strengthen sports infrastructure in both villages and cities. With the construction of such playgrounds, youth in the area will get access to high-level facilities, enabling them to participate in state and national-level competitions and bring pride to themselves, their village, and the country.

Deputy Speaker Rouri also said that such sports grounds will play a helpful role in steering youth away from drugs and towards a positive direction. He appealed to the youth to actively participate in sports and maintain good health.

On this occasion, the panchayat of village Sadhowal, prominent people of the area, sports enthusiasts, and a large number of youth were present. The villagers thanked Deputy Speaker Rouri, stating that this sports ground is a significant gift for the village and will prove beneficial for future generations.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker S. Jai Singh Rouri also instructed departmental officials to ensure proper maintenance and management of the sports ground so that youth can fully benefit from it.
