In Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, a powerful “Jan Aakrosh Mashaal March” was organized today by women in support of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. Hundreds of women from different parts of the city participated and strongly protested against Congress and its allied parties.

The participants alleged that Congress and its allies insulted women’s empowerment by voting against the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, a move that women across the country will not accept. The mashaal march commenced from outside the Community Centre, Mauli Jagran, and concluded at Shiv Mandir, Mauli Jagran.

Women carried mashaal and raised strong slogans such as “Respect Women Power,” “Anti-women mindset will not be tolerated,” and “Long live women power,” creating an electrifying atmosphere. The unity and enthusiasm of the participants were clearly visible throughout the march.

Deputy Mayor Suman Amit Sharma attended as the Chief Guest. She was joined by former Deputy Mayor and State President Mahila Morcha Heera Negi, Mrs. Nisha Sharma, Mrs. Pharmila, Mrs. Sandeep Kaur, Mrs. Manju Verma, Kiran, Jyoti, Radha Bisht, and Sonia Atwal, along with many other prominent women workers.

All speakers highlighted the importance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and termed it a historic step towards women’s empowerment. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Mayor Suman Amit Sharma strongly criticized Congress and its allied parties, stating that by opposing the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam in Parliament, they have exposed their anti-women mindset.

She said the Act is a revolutionary step toward ensuring women’s participation in decision-making, but the opposition’s stance reflects their political opportunism over women’s rights. She further added that women are now aware and will give a befitting reply to such forces.

She urged all women to unite and actively contribute toward safeguarding their rights and bringing positive change in society. The program concluded at Shiv Mandir premises, where women collectively pledged to support the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and continue working for women empowerment. The massive participation clearly reflected that women of Chandigarh are now fully aware and ready to stand firmly against any injustice.
