Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, while reviewing the status of issues raised by traders and shopkeepers during the meetings of the Punjab State Traders’ Commission, directed sub-divisional authorities to keep the Constituency-level Committee Chairmen informed about the progress and resolution of these issues.
She emphasized that the feedback of Constituency-level Chairmen plays a crucial role in addressing local concerns effectively. Therefore, concerned officials must brief them about the status and resolution of issues in a timely manner. Reviewing the pendency list, the Deputy Commissioner noted that, as per feedback from the Constituency-level Committee Chairmen, around 23 grievances reported as addressed by departments have not been fully resolved.
She highlighted that the formation of these committees aims to ensure real-time monitoring and resolution of issues raised by traders and shopkeepers during meetings. Hence, it is the responsibility of officials to keep the Chairmen in the loop before marking any issue as resolved on the online portal.
Chairman of the District Traders’ Commission, Ranjit Pal Singh, who has made significant contributions towards developing the online portal for tracking grievance redressal, stated that departments facing difficulties in resolving issues can reach out for assistance.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr. Ankita Kansal, Vice Chairman of District Traders’ Commission Tarlochan Singh Baidwan, Constituency Chairmen Akwinder Singh Gosal (Mohali) and Yaspal Bansal (Kharar), along with representatives of various departments.
