Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar supported the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Bill’, calling it a historic step for the dignity and empowerment of women. He said that the proposal by Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini shows the government’s strong commitment to women’s welfare.

He was speaking during the special session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on the Bill brought by Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini today. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, several important steps have been taken to empower women.

The ban on triple talaq has ensured dignity for Muslim women. Schemes like Ujjwala Yojana have improved safety and made life easier by providing LPG connections to crores of families.

The Minister said the Haryana Government is continuously working for the welfare of women. More colleges have been opened to improve access to higher education for girls, and transport facilities have been strengthened across the state to ensure their safe travel from villages to colleges and universities.

Development and Panchayats Department is setting up Mahila Chaupals and Mahila Sanskritik Kendras in villages to increase women’s participation and self-reliance. Around 70,000 women linked with self-help groups in the state are becoming financially independent and supporting their families, he added.

Criticising the Opposition, he said that opposing women’s reservation is unfortunate and has hurt the sentiments of women. He said the Bill is above politics and is an important opportunity to strengthen women’s empowerment in the country.

He expressed confidence that women are aware and will respond appropriately in the future.
