Aam Aadmi Party Punjab General Secretary Deepak Bali, while strongly condemning the decision of Rajya Sabha members appointed by the Aam Aadmi Party to join the Bharatiya Janata Party, said that these conspiracies of the BJP are directly against democracy.

Deepak Bali wrote on his social media account, “One who dies in battle is called a martyr, one who wins is called a warrior, and one who flees is called a traitor.” He made it clear that those who are leaving the party under pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party are betraying the people of Punjab.

Bali said that all the Rajya Sabha members appointed from Punjab did not become members through votes. They were appointed as Rajya Sabha members by Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to raise the issues of Punjab in the Rajya Sabha, so that the voices of Punjab’s farmers, labourers, traders, industrialists, employees, and common people could be strongly represented.

Deepak Bali further said that instead of raising the issues of Punjab, these members started doing politics against the very party and leadership that had appointed them to such a prestigious position as Rajya Sabha membership. He said that if they have courage and morality, they should immediately resign from the Rajya Sabha membership and come to Punjab to prove their credibility from any constituency.

Bali clarified that the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to serving the people and remains completely united under the leadership of National Convener Arvind Kejriwal.

He said that those who have betrayed the people of Punjab under pressure from the Bharatiya Janata Party will never be accepted by the people of the state. Bali demanded that the Bharatiya Janata Party should stop its anti-democratic and malicious tactics.
