Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of preparations for the NEET (UG) examination, scheduled for May 3, 2026. While presiding over a review meeting with the Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police via video conference with the Chief Minister directed that the examination be conducted in a peaceful, fair and fully transparent manner, without any lapse at any level.
He further directed the officers concerned to ensure equally robust arrangements for the HCS and Allied Services Examination to be held on April 26. Highlighting candidate convenience as a priority, he directed that all essential facilities be in place at examination centres.
Across Haryana, 175 centres have been established for NEET (UG), where approximately 65,300 candidates will appear. Officers were directed to ensure well-planned parking and waiting arrangements for parents, along with seamless traffic management so that no candidate faces difficulty in reaching the centre on time.
The Chief Minister emphasised strict accountability in duty, making it clear that negligence will not be tolerated. He called for heightened surveillance on social media to curb misinformation, along with stringent district-level monitoring to prevent any attempt to mislead candidates.
Directions were also issued for the deployment of ambulances with medical support near examination centres, advance identification of parking zones, and foolproof security of question papers. Referring to the recently conducted CET examination, the Chief Minister said that its successful management had been appreciated by the Central Government and directed officers to maintain the same level of efficiency in conducting the examination.
He further directed that all centres must have uninterrupted drinking water, electricity and sanitation facilities, fully functional CCTV systems, and effective traffic regulation. In case of need, Dial 112 services must be deployed to assist candidates in reaching their centres on time.
It was informed in the meeting that the NEET (UG) examination will be conducted in offline mode on May 3 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Entry to centres will be allowed between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM, after which gates will be closed.
TA strengthens arrangements for smooth conduct
Director, National Testing Agency, Sh. Abhishek Singh apprised the Chief Minister that all preparations have been completed. Biometric verification capacity has been significantly enhanced, with separate frisking counters for male and female candidates.
One security check counter will be deployed for every 100 candidates, while one biometric device will be available for every 48 candidates. By April 30, all centres will be equipped with CCTV cameras, jammers and necessary infrastructure.Jammers will be activated from 1:45 PM on the day of the examination to ensure that the biometric verification process remains uninterrupted.
Chief Secretary, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner Revenue and Disaster Management, Dr. Sumita Misra, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Department, Sh. A.K. Singh, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. Yash Pal, Special Secretary, Monitoring and Coordination Dr. Priyanka Soni, and other senior officers also remained present during the meeting.
