Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab State Media In-charge Baltej Pannu stated that the Bhagwant Mann Government’s two major campaigns, ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ and ‘Gangstran Te Vaar’, are being carried out successfully by Punjab Police with strong support from the people, reflecting the administration’s firm resolve to eliminate drugs and organised crime from Punjab.

Highlighting the progress of the anti-gangster drive, Baltej Pannu said, “‘Gangstran Te Vaar’ campaign has completed 92 days, and on the 92nd day alone, Punjab Police arrested 254 individuals and recovered 4 illegal weapons.” He added, “The total number of arrests under this campaign has now reached 23,140, while out of 79 individuals detained for questioning, 61 were released after thorough investigation.”

Emphasising public participation in the campaign, Baltej Pannu said, “The Bhagwant Mann Government had issued a public appeal seeking information about wanted gangsters, and citizens have actively responded.” He added, “A dedicated helpline, 93946-93946, has been set up where people can share information confidentially, ensuring their identity remains protected.”

Speaking about the anti-drug drive, Baltej Pannu said, “‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign has now entered its 417th day, and on the 417th day, Punjab Police arrested 98 drug traffickers and recovered 1.1 kilograms of heroin.” He further stated, “The total number of drug smugglers arrested so far has crossed 60,000, marking a significant achievement in Punjab’s fight against drugs.”

Crediting the success of both campaigns, Baltej Pannu said, “The unwavering commitment of the Mann Government and the active cooperation of the people of Punjab have ensured the success of these drives.” He reiterated, “These campaigns will continue with full force until Punjab is free from the menace of drugs and organised crime.”
