The Vice President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan addressed the 3rd convocation ceremony of IIMT University, Meerut today, stating that the occasion marks not merely the culmination of an academic journey, but the beginning of a lifelong commitment towards nation-building.

The Vice President observed that they are stepping into an India that is rapidly evolving and brimming with opportunities. He described the present moment as a defining phase in the nation’s history, marked by transformative infrastructure and development initiatives.

The Vice President highlighted the Namo Bharat Train and the Meerut Metro, inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi earlier this year, as examples of modern, efficient, and sustainable connectivity that are opening new avenues of growth for students and professionals alike.

Emphasising the vision of Viksit Bharat, the Vice President underlined that this vision is a national mission that requires the energy, creativity, and commitment of the youth. He added that the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat lies at the core of this transformative journey.

Urging students to embrace their responsibilities, the Vice President stressed the importance of contributing to nation-building, upholding values of integrity, discipline, and service, and ensuring that development remains inclusive, sustainable, and rooted in India’s rich cultural heritage.

Encouraging students to think beyond personal success, he advised them to align their ambitions with national priorities. He called upon them to become job creators rather than job seekers. He also urged them to embrace innovation, support local industries, and promote home-grown solutions.

The Vice President stated that the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 goes beyond economic growth and encompasses inclusive development that reaches the last village and the last person. The Vice President observed that women are increasingly securing a significant share of academic honours and medals at convocations.

He described this as a reflection of a positive societal transformation driven by determination, discipline, and supportive ecosystems. He noted that such achievements are setting new benchmarks and inspiring future generations towards a more inclusive and progressive India.

Minister of Animal Husbandry & Dairy Development, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Dharmpal Singh; Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri Laxmikant Bajpai; Chancellor, IIMT University, Shri Yogesh Mohan Gupta; and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
