In a significant push to urban development, works worth ₹68.72 lakh have been launched in Ward No. 11 of Dhuri by Sukhvir Singh, OSD to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Member of the Waqf Board, Dr. Anwar Bhasaur, was also present on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Sukhvir Singh said that the Punjab Government is committed to delivering on its promises, with development works being carried out across all wards of Dhuri constituency at a war footing and without any discrimination.
He informed that the construction of eight streets in Ward No. 11 has commenced under this project. He further highlighted that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has sanctioned open grants for the constituency, enabling the execution of large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening basic civic amenities.
These initiatives, he said, are helping resolve long-pending issues faced by residents. Emphasizing the broader vision, Sukhvir Singh stated that Dhuri is being developed into a modern and well-planned model city. Priority is being given to upgrading essential infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, street lighting, and sanitation, to enhance the quality of life for citizens.
During the visit, he interacted with local residents, listened to their concerns, and directed officials to ensure their prompt redressal. He reiterated that no compromise will be made on quality and that all works will be completed within stipulated timelines.
Among those present were Chairman, Punjab Gau Sewa Commission, Ashok Lakha, along with Satinder Singh Chatha, Pushpinder Sharma, Jaspal Singh Bhullar, Lal Singh, Sukhpal Singh Pala, Gurcharan Singh, Birbal, Baldev Singh, Gurinder Kaur, Amrik Singh, Nirmal Singh, Ajaib Singh, Manmohan Lal, Rai Chand, and a large number of local residents.
