In a major push toward holistic rehabilitation, Sh. Himanshu Jain (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, today launched Phase II of the "Navi Roshni" Program at the Juvenile Observation Home, Shimlapuri. This phase introduces a structured curriculum of certificate courses in collaboration with the Art Life & Beyond Society, led by Mrs. Sapna Mittal.
The Navi Roshni Program Phase II focuses on the mental and physical well-being of the juveniles through specialized certificate courses, including:
1) Yoga: For physical health and mental composure.
2) Bhangra & Singing: To celebrate cultural heritage and provide a creative emotional outlet.
3) Art & Craft: To foster patience, precision, and artistic expression.
The regularization of these courses is designed to instil a sense of order and discipline in the daily lives of the juveniles. By engaging in consistent, goal-oriented activities, the residents move away from idleness toward a lifestyle of active participation.
These programs are not merely recreational; they serve as therapeutic tools to build focus, teamwork, and self-esteem, essential traits for successful social reintegration. The Chief Governance Officer, Ambar Bandopadhyay and Governance Fellow, Navpreet Sidhu are also a part of this prestigious program.
The initiative marks a continued commitment by the Ludhiana Administration to provide a supportive environment that prioritizes the reformative journey of every individual at the Observation Home, Shimlapuri.
