Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam said that wrestling is not only the identity of Haryana but has also brought global recognition to the state. He emphasised the need for continuous improvement in the sport and motivating players to achieve better performance, expressing confidence that Haryana’s wrestlers will make a strong mark in wrestling at the 2036 Olympics.

The Minister was addressing a review meeting held at Palwal, organised to further elevate the standard of wrestling in the state. He said that the government’s objective is not only to provide facilities but also to ensure their optimal utilisation so that players derive maximum benefit.

He expressed confidence that with dedication and clear targets, Haryana’s players will achieve greater success on the international stage.

During the meeting, players and coaches also shared their experiences and put forward suggestions, including strengthening the training ecosystem, expanding sports facilities in rural areas, timely identification of talent, and ensuring continuous guidance for athletes.
