Welcoming the Bharatiya Janata Party’s initiative of assigning significant responsibilities to Sikh leadership at the national level, BJP leader from North constituency Akshay Sharma described it as a reflection of the party’s visionary and inclusive approach.
He said that this policy demonstrates BJP’s deep respect for Punjab and the Sikh community. Akshay Sharma expressed special happiness over the appointment of Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. He stated that Sandhu’s extensive diplomatic experience, clean image, and excellent administrative capabilities make him the most suitable for the position.
His leadership will not only provide a new direction to Delhi’s development but also stands as a strong example of BJP’s merit-based politics. Praising the role of other prominent Sikh leaders in the party, he said that leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh, Hardeep Singh Puri, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, R.P. Singh, and Satnam Singh Sandhu are strengthening the voice of the Sikh community at the national level.
The inclusion of experienced leaders like Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi and Kewal Singh Dhillon has further expanded the party’s base. Akshay Sharma further said that the joining of senior leader Jagmeet Singh Brar into the BJP, along with leaders like Ripjeet Singh Brar, Charanjit Singh Brar, and Prof. Onkar Singh, clearly indicates that the people of Punjab are now viewing BJP as a strong alternative.
He also appreciated the decision to strengthen the organization at the district level by assigning responsibilities to grassroots leaders like Dayal Singh Barkandi, Dheeraj Singh Dhoti, Gurpreet Singh Khukha, and Sukhpal Singh Bebekwali.
In conclusion, he said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” BJP is committed to the holistic development of Punjab and will pave the way for a transparent and development-oriented government in the state in the coming time.
