Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, informed that during the period from January 1, 2025 to January 25, 2026 in Fatehabad district, agricultural officers inspected shops selling pesticides, agro-chemicals, fertilizers and seeds. During this period, a total of 136 pesticide dealers, 148 fertilizer dealers and 128 seed dealers were inspected.
The Minister said that during the inspections, 189 samples of pesticides, 252 samples of fertilizers and 157 samples of seeds were collected from the shops. He also clarified that no agricultural input exists under the name “Agro Medicine” under the Insecticides Act, 1968.
The Minister was responding to a question raised during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. He informed the House that during inspections conducted by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, 171 out of the total 189 pesticide samples were found conforming to standards, while 18 samples were found not conforming to standards.
The Minister further informed that 245 fertilizer samples were found conforming to standards (pass), while 7 samples were found not conforming to standards (fail). Similarly, 155 seed samples were found conforming to standards (pass), while 2 samples were found not conforming to standards (fail).
