Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry informed the House that, as per the government’s policy, watercourses (khaals) in the state can be reconstructed only after completing at least 20 years of their construction period. The Minister was responding to a question raised in the House during the ongoing Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
She said that 38 watercourses (khaals) in the Adampur Assembly Constituency have been remodelled or reconstructed since 2019. She further informed that the remodelling of 15 watercourses in the Adampur Assembly Constituency for the financial year 2026–27 is currently under the consideration of the government.
The estimated cost of these works is around Rs.50 crore.
