Bharatiya Janata Party leader from the North constituency, Akshay Sharma, today visited the residence of former Ambassador Taranjeet Singh Sandhu to congratulate his family after his appointment as the Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi. On the occasion, Akshay Sharma and BJP workers celebrated with great enthusiasm by performing bhangra to the beats of drums, bursting crackers and distributing sweets.

Recognition of Capability and Experience

While speaking to the media, Akshay Sharma said that the decision taken by the BJP high command is highly commendable. He said, “As a diplomat, Taranjeet Singh Sandhu has resolved many important issues for the country at the international level, which clearly reflects his capability.

Now his administrative experience will benefit the development of Delhi. Under his leadership, Delhi and the nation will move forward with greater strength.”

A Strong Voice for Punjab’s Interests

Akshay Sharma emphasized that Sandhu’s family has always remained connected with Punjab and its issues. He said, “A person who wants to work wholeheartedly for Punjab can never be distant from his state.

Even when he was not in government, Sandhu always helped resolve the problems of the people. Now he will raise issues related to Punjab’s youth, drug eradication and development directly with the high command, which will bring prosperity to the state.”

Sharp Attack on the Aam Aadmi Party

Targeting the present state government, Akshay Sharma said that the people of Punjab have been deceived in the name of ‘change’. He stated that merely painting schools and buses in a particular color cannot be called development. Punjab today stands at a stage where development is nearly absent.

He added that the drug problem cannot be solved merely by sending people to jail. It requires a concrete policy and a visionary approach like that of the BJP. Taking a dig at the Congress, Sharma said that gathering crowds under the name of MGNREGA and spreading misinformation is not BJP’s policy. BJP believes only in the politics of solutions.

Clarifying the future strategy, Akshay Sharma said, “When our DCs and DSPs are young, why should our political leadership be outdated? BJP is now coming forward with young leadership and new policies. Under the guidance of Amit Shah, real change will be brought to Punjab.”

He further said that the massive gathering in Moga will prove that the people of Punjab have started trusting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s model of development. On March 14, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Moga to interact with people about their concerns, issues and solutions.

In conclusion, Akshay Sharma said that the coming time belongs to the BJP and that the North constituency, along with the entire Punjab, is ready to join the new mainstream of development. BJP district president Harvinder Singh Sandhu and several party workers were also present on the occasion.
