Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the Government of India, on September 08, 1993, had fixed the criteria for excluding the creamy layer from the Other Backward Classes (OBCs). The income and property limits have been revised from time to time, while no changes have been made in the other criteria.
The Minister was responding to a question raised by a member during the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. Sh.Bedi said that in the year 2017, the Government of India revised the income limit for the creamy layer to Rs. 8 lakh per annum.
Accordingly, the Haryana Government also fixed the income limit at Rs.8.00 lakh per annum through a notification dated July 16, 2024. He informed the House that, as per the directions of the Central Government, the State Government is providing all types of benefits to people belonging to the Other Backward Classes.
