Haryana Minister of State for Sports, Sh. Gaurav Gautam, said that the State Government is committed to providing better facilities to sportspersons. The Minister was responding to a question raised by a member during the ongoing Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.

He informed the House that in March 2008, the Sports Department had released an amount of Rs.12.67 lakh to the District Sports Council, Sirsa, for the construction of a sports stadium in village Masitan. The stadium was constructed by the Gram Panchayat in 2009.

He further said that, on the request of the Gram Panchayat, the Sports Department approved Rs. 20.65 lakh in February 2010 and an additional Rs. 18.96 lakh in May 2017 to the District Sports Council, Sirsa, for the construction of a multipurpose hall in village Masitan.
