Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister, Smt. Shruti Choudhry, informed the House that two projects worth Rs.1650.00 lakh have been approved for draining flood water from the fields of Sarangpur and Mahalsara villages in the Adampur Assembly constituency. In addition, one project worth Rs. 421.00 lakh has been approved for draining flood water from the fields of Arya Nagar, Tokas, and Pattan villages in the Nalwa Assembly constituency.
These approvals were granted in the 57th meeting of HSDR-FCB. The Minister was responding to a question raised during the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
She said that in the remaining affected villages of the area, temporary arrangements were made for water drainage by installing EP/DP pumps. The situation will be reviewed during the upcoming monsoon season, and if required, proposals for additional flood control schemes will be placed in the next meeting of HSDR-FCB to ensure a permanent solution to the problem.
She further informed that Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Saini had recently announced that the carrying capacity of the Hisar Ghaggar Drain would be increased, which would provide a solution to the waterlogging problem in Hisar, Sirsa, and Fatehabad districts.
