On the occasion of the Baba Fakira Das Ji Jor Mela, a grand international wrestling dangal was organized at village Gharachon by Sarpanch Daljit Singh Ghuman and the entire Gram Panchayat with the support of the village residents. Prominent personalities from the political sphere attended the sporting event and boosted the morale of the players.
On this occasion, AAP Member of Parliament Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, Special Duty Officer to the Chief Minister of Punjab Rajbir Singh Ghuman, Private Secretary to the Chief Minister Sukhvir Singh Sukhi and many AAP leaders were present. A special highlight of the dangal was that the winner of the first flag bout was honoured with a Ford tractor.
In this competition, along with renowned wrestlers from India, Iranian wrestlers also showcased their strength. Along with the sports event, famous Punjabi singer Harjit Harman entertained the audience with his performance, adding cultural vibrancy to the occasion.
