The University Business School, Guru Nanak Dev University under the aegis of the Centre for Agricultural Research and Innovation (CARI), established under RUSA 2.0, successfully commenced a two-day National Conference on “Transformational Role of Agriculture in Entrepreneurship–A Step Forward Towards Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”. The conference witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 delegates, including academicians, researchers, policymakers, and scholars from across the country. During these two-days, the event aims to deliberate upon the evolving role of agriculture in fostering entrepreneurship and contributing toward the achievement of
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference was inaugurated under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Karamjeet Singh, Guru Nanak Dev University who graced the occasion as the Chief Patron. Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar, Member of Legislative Assembly, Amritsar (South) as Chief Guest.
The inaugural session was further dignified by Prof. Dr. P.K. Pati, Coordinator CARI and Head, Department of Agriculture (Patron); and Prof. Dr. Sanjay Modi, Ex-Professor and Vice Chancellor, Lovely Professional University as Guest of Honour. The keynote addresses were delivered by Prof. Dr. P.K. Pati and Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Associate Professor, IIM Amritsar, who highlighted the significance of sustainable agricultural practices, innovation-driven strategies, and integrated policy frameworks in addressing contemporary economic and rural challenges.
The conference was convened by Prof. Dr. Vikram Sandhu, Head, University Business School, and coordinated by Dr. Divya Mahajan, Assistant Professor, University BusinessSchool. Technical Session-1 featured distinguished speakers including Prof. Dr. Tejinder Sharma, Prof. (Retd.) A.R. Tripathi, Prof. Dr. Lalit Mohan Kathuria, Prof. Dr. Siddharatha Shankar Bhardwaj who shared valuable academic and industry insights. Technical Session-2 chaired by Prof. Dr. Abhay Jain and co-chaired by Dr. Rajwinder Singh, Prof. Dr. Gurpreet Randhawa and Dr. Jasveen Kaur.
The Conference concluded with vibrant academic deliberations and meaningful interactions, reflecting the commitment to fostering research excellence and collaborative dialogue.
