In line with the commitment of the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led Punjab Government, three buses carrying around 140 pilgrims departed from Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district for Amritsar on Sunday under the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that the buses were flagged off from Jhampur (Mohali), Fatehpur Sialba (Kharar) and Nimbua (Derabassi), ferrying eligible residents as per the criteria laid down by the Punjab Government.
She further informed that the entire itinerary, including transportation, boarding and lodging for the three-day pilgrimage, will be borne by the Punjab Government. During the visit, the pilgrims will pay obeisance at Darbar Sahib, Durgiana Mandir and Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal. They will also visit Jallianwala Bagh and witness the Retreat Ceremony at the Wagah Border.
