Union Minister of State Rao Inderjit Singh described the Union Budget as a reflection of the country’s aspirations, saying that this budget is not merely a list of promises but a document of duties, clear vision and strong determination. He said this budget reflects the government’s commitment to fulfill its responsibility towards every citizen.
Addressing a press conference in Gurugram, Rao Inderjit Singh said that the budget presents a clear roadmap for empowering every section of society. This is not a budget limited to announcements, but a vision that provides opportunities, encouragement and support at the ground level, giving the people of the country the strength to move forward continuously.
BJP State Spokesperson Jawahar Yadav, District President Sarvapriya Tyagi and Gurugram Mayor Rajrani Malhotra were also present at the press conference.
A Budget that Carries Heritage and Development Together
Rao said under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the vision of taking heritage and development forward together is strongly reflected in this budget. By encompassing sectors such as manufacturing, infrastructure, health, education, tourism, rural development, artificial intelligence and sports, this budget is a decisive step towards realizing the vision of “Viksit Bharat”.
Historic Investment in Infrastructure in the Last Decade
Rao Inderjit Singh said that the Central Government has made a historic increase in investment in the infrastructure sector over the past decade. He informed that the allocation for Road Transport and Highways, which was ₹31,302 crore in 2013–14, has increased to ₹3,09,875 crore in 2026–27.
Similarly, the railway budget has risen from ₹26,000 crore to ₹2,81,377 crore, Housing and Urban Affairs from ₹1,486 crore to ₹85,822 crore and the energy sector from ₹10,000 crore to ₹29,997 crore. These figures clearly show that the government is continuously investing to make infrastructure the backbone of the economy.
Strong Investment Giving New Direction to Manufacturing Sector
Speaking on the manufacturing sector, Rao Inderjit Singh said that compared to 2013–14, the present budget has given a new direction to manufacturing. The provision of a ₹10,000 crore SME Growth Fund for MSMEs, ₹40,000 crore for expansion of electronics manufacturing and ₹10,000 crore investment under the BioPharma Shakti Scheme are proof of this.
In addition, schemes related to textiles, container manufacturing and high-tech tool rooms will provide a strong foundation for making India a global manufacturing hub.
Highest Priority to Farmers’ Interests
Regarding farmers, Rao Inderjit Singh said that there has been an unprecedented increase in the agriculture budget. He informed that the MSP of wheat, which was ₹1,350 per quintal in 2013–14, has increased to ₹2,425 in 2025–26, while the MSP of paddy has risen from ₹1,310 to ₹2,369 per quintal.
The budget of the Agriculture Ministry has increased from ₹27,662 crore (2013–14) to ₹1,40,529 crore and fertilizer subsidy from ₹65,971 crore to ₹1,70,799 crore. He added that farmers are being supported through PM Fasal Bima Yojana during crop losses and PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for financial assistance, reflecting the Central Government’s highest priority towards farmers’ income, security and future.
Historic Strengthening of Transport Infrastructure in Haryana
Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh said that over the last 11 years, the Central Government has consistently provided better budgets to strengthen Haryana’s road and national highway infrastructure, along with unprecedented investment in railways.
He stated that while Haryana received an average annual railway budget of ₹315 crore during 2009–14, it has increased to ₹3,566 crore in 2026–27 — nearly an 11-fold rise. Currently, railway infrastructure works worth over ₹12,091 crore are underway in the state, including new tracks, station redevelopment and safety upgrades.
The Union Minister said that Haryana has reached new heights in connectivity and passenger facilities. Under the Amrit Station Scheme, 34 stations in the state are being redeveloped with a proposed investment of ₹1,149 crore, while work on two stations has already been completed.
He informed that nearly 850 km of new railway lines have been constructed in Haryana since 2014 and the state has achieved 100 percent railway electrification. Additionally, construction of 549 flyovers and underpasses, operation of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains, and expansion of the modern safety system ‘Kavach’ demonstrate that the Central Government is strengthening Haryana’s transport infrastructure for the future.
He concluded that this budget, prepared with the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”, provides a strong foundation for the country.
