Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that a total of 15 complaints were placed on the agenda during the District Public Grievance Redressal Committee meeting held today in Sirsa, out of which 11 complaints were redressed on the spot, while four were deferred to the next meeting. He emphasized that the government’s priority is to ensure timely, transparent and effective resolution of public grievances.

Notably, during the meeting, taking prompt action on a serious complaint, Sh. Vij directed the suspension of two officers and also directed that a criminal case be registered against the guilty persons. The Energy Minister was speaking to media representatives after chairing the District Public Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Sirsa.

Responding to questions regarding illegal tree felling in Kaluana village of Sirsa, Sh. Vij said that a committee had been constituted to investigate the matter. The committee, in its report, confirmed that 31 additional trees had been illegally cut. He said that strict action has been taken against those found negligent in this case.

It is noteworthy that during the meeting, while hearing the complainant’s allegation of cutting 51 trees, the minister ordered the suspension of the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Department and the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO). He also directed that criminal cases be registered against those involved in the illegal felling.

On issues related to electricity wires and meters in Sirsa, Sh. Vij issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officials to carry out necessary repairs and corrective measures at the earliest, so that the public does not face any inconvenience. Reacting to allegations by Congress over the renaming of the MGNREGA scheme, Sh. Vij said that Congress is not opposed to the scheme itself but has a problem with the word “VIKAS.”

He remarked that Congress ruled the country for over 60 years but failed to deliver real development. He alleged that Congress wants people to remain poor and unemployed.

Taking a dig, he said that the word “VIKAS” is like a “red rag to a bull” for Congress, and it becomes restless whenever development is discussed. He further said that Congress has also had an issue with Lord Ram, which is why the Ram Temple could not be constructed for 60 years.

Now that the temple has been built, he added, to his knowledge, Rahul Gandhi has still not visited it. Responding to a question about Brijendra Singh’s Padyatra, Sh. Vij remarked sarcastically that scriptures say when a person has crossed all stages of life, they should go out wandering, and perhaps the same tradition is being followed.

Meanwhile, reacting to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor’s statement on rising GDP, the Energy Minister said that it is true that the country’s GDP is continuously increasing. He added that it is a positive sign that Sh. Tharoor is also acknowledging this reality, and India is steadily moving towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
