Taking a significant step to provide relief to the residents of Indira Colony in the North Constituency (Halka North), who have been suffering from a severe water crisis for several months, BJP leader Akshay Sharma arrived in the locality today with a large supply of water coolers and electric motors. He stated that in politics, merely raising an outcry over problems is not enough; his priority is to provide solutions on the ground.
While handing over the relief material to the local residents, Akshay Sharma raised sharp questions regarding the functioning of Senior Deputy Mayor Priyanka Sharma. He remarked that it is deeply unfortunate that despite this area being under the Senior Deputy Mayor’s own jurisdiction, the people are forced to live in hellish conditions.
Residents had approached her multiple times with their grievances, but were sent back with nothing but hollow promises. Sharma added that when the frustrated residents visited his office and narrated their plight, he rose above politics and took it upon himself to resolve their thirst first.
Akshay Sharma highlighted that the supply of contaminated water had increased the risk of diseases in the area, prompting him to launch a 'Free Water Service'. Under this initiative, not only are water coolers being delivered to households, but new electric motors are also being installed for underprivileged families who lacked the means to draw water.
He strongly criticized the Municipal Corporation, stating that the administration has become completely negligent and those in responsible positions are turning a blind eye to the public's suffering. Akshay Sharma reaffirmed that he stands with the people of the North Constituency not just for elections, but as a true servant who will always be by their side.
