Directions have been issued to the district administration regarding the estimated expenses for renovating and maintaining Sewa Singh Thikriwala's haveli in Thikriwala village, according to which funds will be released by the Punjab government.

Punjab Finance Minister Mr Harpal Singh Cheema said here today here today while addressing a gathering at the 92nd death anniversary of martyr Sardar Sewa Singh Thikriwala ji - the hero of the Praja Mandal movement in Thikriwal village. 

He, along with Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, MP Meet Hayer, MLA Mahil Kalan and Chairman of the Special Powers Committee (Legislative Assembly) Kulwant Singh Pandori, Chairman of Planning Board Barnala Parminder Singh Bhangu, and other leaders, paid tributes to great martyr Sardar Sewa Singh Thikriwala. 

On this occasion, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the work on the Nursing College in Thikriwala village will be expedited on time. Regarding this, there are some shortcomings; directions have been issued to the Health Department to remove these.

Finance Minister Mr. Cheema said that those communities who remember their martyrs always progress, and Punjab has the unique honor of being blessed by its martyrs. He said that Sewa Singh Thikriwala ji fought the battle for the rights of the common people and became the hero of the Prajapat Mandal.

Minister Mr. Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister Mr. Aman Arora, Member of Parliament Mr. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, and Chairman of the Special Powers Committee Mr. Kulwant Singh Pandori laid the foundation stone today for constructing 12.99 kilometers of roads in Thikriwala village at a cost of 959.49 lakh rupees.

10-feet wide and 0.25 kilometer long road from Thikriwala to Shmashanghat will be newly constructed at a cost of 13 lakh rupees, and a road from Thikriwala Rice Mill to Chushpa and Kutia, 2.20 kilometers long, will be newly constructed at a cost of 2.20 kilometers.

Similarly, the road from Naiwal to Thikriwala, 3.40 kilometers, will be widened from 10 feet to 18 feet at an expense of 340 lakh rupees. Likewise, the road from Thikriwala to Bhaddalwaddh, 3.74 kilometers, is to be widened from 10 feet to 18 feet, which will cost 220.29 lakh rupees. The road from Thikriwala to Chuhanke Khurd (up to the municipal corporation limit), 3.40 kilometers long, will be widened at a cost of 272 lakh rupees.

On this occasion, MP Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab has saved the state's water by investing thousands of crores of rupees. In the last 4 years alone, Barnala has received projects worth 300 crore rupees from the Irrigation Department. In addition, with 600 units of free electricity, the bills of 90 percent of houses in villages have become zero.

He further stated that now the Punjab government has started insurance up to 10 lakh rupees considering it as the welfare of all, and there is no other condition for it. To stop the economic exploitation of people, the Punjab government has closed 17 toll plazas. An honest government has kept its treasury open for the common people. 

The Punjab government has given road projects worth 242 crore rupees to Barnala district, which will be completed by March 31.Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora said that the residents of Thikriwala are the heirs of that land where Sewa Singh Thikriwala started the war for the welfare of the people. 

He fought for the country by abandoning worldly comforts. He assured that all works related to Thikriwala village will soon be expedited.He informed that directions have been issued to the administration to properly install the solar lights at the statue of Thikriwala ji at Patiala and administration has been asked to further improve the appearance of the statue of Great Martyr Sewa Singh Thikriwala.

On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Barnala Mr. Amit Bambi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Mr. Ayush Goel, and other officers were present.
