Jalandhar secure top position in the state in e-governance service disposal

Jalandhar district has secured the top position in Punjab in e-Governance service disposal by efficiently processing the highest number of citizen service applications within the prescribed timelines. The achievement reflects the district administration’s sustained focus on transparency, efficiency and time-bound delivery of public services.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today felicitated Dr. Sumita Abrol, Local Registrar (Birth & Death), Municipal Corporation Jalandhar, and Dr. Jyoti Pholeka, Assistant District Registrar (ADR), Office of the Civil Surgeon, Jalandhar, for their exemplary contribution towards this accomplishment. Their coordinated efforts played a pivotal role in placing Jalandhar among the top-performing districts of the state.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that both officers successfully disposed of over 97 percent of applications related to birth and death registration within the stipulated timeframe, setting a benchmark for prompt and citizen-centric service delivery. Dr. Aggarwal also lauded the role of officials and staff at various Sewa Kendras across the district for ensuring seamless processing of applications and extending hassle-free services to the public.

Reiterating the administration’s commitment to good governance, the Deputy Commissioner said that Jalandhar would continue to strengthen key parameters of citizen services through regular monitoring, use of technology and accountability mechanisms. He expressed confidence that with collective efforts, the district would not only maintain but further improve its top position in the state in the coming times.

The recognition underscores Jalandhar Administration’s resolve to make governance more accessible, efficient and responsive to public needs.
