Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal today directed officials of various departments to achieve zero pendency in citizen services and public grievances by ensuring timely disposal of all applications. Chairing a detailed review meeting at the District Administrative Complex, Dr. Aggarwal said that during the past one year, as many as 3,75,774 applicants availed various services across Sewa Kendras in the district.

He noted that the current pendency rate stands at 0.22 percent, and directed officials to further bring this down to zero through regular monitoring and swift action on all pending cases. Emphasizing strict adherence to timelines, the Deputy Commissioner asserted that any official responsible for unwarranted delays would be held accountable.

He said the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has placed top priority on ensuring hassle-free, transparent, and efficient delivery of citizen services. Under this commitment, several innovative initiatives have been launched to simplify procedures and enhance public convenience in government offices.

Reviewing the status of applications pending under the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), Dr. Aggarwal instructed departments to resolve all complaints within the prescribed time frame. He said grievances registered on the PGRS portal are meant for fast-track redressal, and delays defeat the very purpose of the system.

Reiterating the administration’s resolve to strengthen public service delivery, the Deputy Commissioner called for coordinated efforts to ensure that citizens receive timely, effective, and seamless services across the district.
