Among these, 43 cases and 82 accused are linked to the commercial quantity of drugs. As part of the same drive, nine properties worth approximately ₹3.63 crore have also been confiscated. The illegal house demolished in Indira Basti belonged to a family against whom 16 cases have been registered. 03 NDPS Act cases are registered against accused Kulbir Singh, 03 NDPS Act cases against his father Dulla Singh, and 07 NDPS Act cases along with 03 Excise Act cases against Kulbir Singh’s wife, Baljinder Kaur.

He appealed to the youth who wish to quit drugs and lead a better life to come forward, assuring that the Punjab Government is providing all possible assistance. Government de-addiction and rehabilitation centres in the district are fully operational for this purpose.

Issuing a stern warning to drug traffickers, S.P., Virk said that they must stop selling drugs immediately, otherwise similar strict action will be taken against them.
