Five teams were declared winners of the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025-Software edition that successfully concluded at nodal center CEC-CGC Landran. These teams were selected for the winners’ prize of Rs.1,50,000/- each, after a rigorous evaluation process. This two-day national level event saw, 25 teams from different Indian states working on problem statements assigned by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Punjab.
Team Vision Hackers won for developing a Gamified environmental education platform that strengthens disaster preparedness among students; Team Tech Pravaha won for creating an immersive digital learning ecosystem that makes environmental education more engaging; Team NEXAURA 2.3 for building an AI-powered, offline-first agricultural advisory platform for small and marginal farmers; Team Phantom Techies for designing a smart curriculum management application to streamline academic processes; and Team COGNISPHERE for offering a technology-driven attendance system for rural schools using QR codes, RFID or biometrics.
Each team demonstrated clear problem understanding, practical solution design and a focus on scalability and social relevance. The valedictory ceremony at CEC-CGC Landran was attended by Chief Guest Brahm Alreja, Vice President, TiE Chandigarh and Founder & CEO of Innovative & Rewards Private Ltd.; along with Guests of Honour Mr. Sajal Gupta, Founder of Dikonia, and Mr. Anil Channa, Co-Owner and CTO of Softwiz Infotech. They were joined by Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, CGC Landran; Mr. Ajinkya Chavan, SIH Nodal Center Head; and Dr. Sushil Kamboj, SPOC, Nodal Center, CEC-CGC Landran.
The event reaffirmed the role of platforms like SIH in guiding young innovators toward creating solutions that support a self-reliant and Viksit Bharat, driven by thoughtful, collaborative, and meaningful technological advancement. SIH-2025 was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education’s (MoE) Innovation Cell, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and partner organisations.
It is a nationwide initiative by MOE’s Innovation Cell to provide students a platform to solve the pressing problems of the government, ministries, departments, industries and other organizations. It brings together students from across the country to develop technology-driven solutions for real-world challenges posed by various ministries, departments, and industry partners.
Its objective is to foster a culture of innovation, encourage young problem-solvers and promote solutions that strengthen national development. It is being conducted annually, since 2017, in two formats i.e. SIH Software and SIH Hardware Editions for higher education students.
