Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal today specially invited prominent Sikh scholars and historians to Delhi and honoured them. They were honoured for the significant role they played in making the 350th martyrdom commemorations of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji successful.

Among the scholars who were honoured were Dr. Parmvir Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala (a Sikh scholar and renowned historian), Dr. Amarjeet Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University (a scholar with deep understanding of Sikh principles), former Principal of Gurmat College Dr. Jasvir Kaur Ji (who has been engaged in the propagation of Gurmat and connecting the new generation with Sikh teachings), and respected scholar Simarjeet Singh Kang Sahib, who has served a long tenure in the Shiromani Committee.

On the occasion, Arvind Kejriwal held long discussions with the honoured scholars on what more the government or the party could do to promote Sikh faith and spread the teachings of Guru Sahib to the people. Cabinet Minister Harjot Bains, Tarunpreet Singh Sond, and Tourism Department Advisor Deepak Bali were also present.

Arvind Kejriwal said that these great scholars played an important role in teaching the sikh history and conveying the message of Guru Sahib to the masses. The scholars also meticulously oversaw every aspect to ensure the success of the commemorations.

Kejriwal appreciated the contributions of these scholars, saying that their role is historic. Detailed discussions were also held on what more the government and the party can do in the long run to promote Sikh faith and its teachings.
