Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, development works across Barnala district are progressing rapidly, with new city and village projects worth crores being launched every week. Member of Parliament Mr Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer announced this while laying foundation stones for development works worth Rs 40m lakhs at Sanghera today.
The MP today laid foundation stones for putting net around the local pond, installation of interlock tiles, and upgradation of two bus stands in Sanghera—one towards Karamgarh and the other towards Barnala—to provide better facilities for commuters. Additionally, the pond will be renovated to help residents get relief from dirty water problems.
Speaking on the occasion, the MP stated that the Punjab government is making special efforts for the development of Sanghera. The state government has already approved development works worth about ₹13 to Rs 14 lakhs for Sanghera. Apart from this, around s 40 lakhs worth of different projects were launched today.
Among these projects, the fencing around the new pond—with an investment of Rs 10 lakh —is being done for the first time in fifty years. It was a longstanding demand of villagers, as the lack of fencing posed a risk of objects falling into the pond.
Meet Hayer thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, stating that the Punjab Government has released special grants for Barnala, which will give the area a new direction in development. He also congratulated the people of Sanghera for these development initiatives.
