Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the State Government is fully committed to making Gurugram a traffic jam-free and smooth-transit city. He stated that providing a permanent solution to traffic issues is a top government priority, and steps are being taken in a planned and systematic manner.

The Chief Minister was presiding over the 15th meeting of the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) today, during which he reviewed the progress of various development works and infrastructure projects in the city. The meeting, held at the PWD Rest House, was attended by Union Minister and local MP Rao Inderjit Singh, Haryana’s Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, and Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, who joined via video conferencing.

MLAs Mukesh Sharma (Gurugram), Bimla Chaudhary (Pataudi), and Tejpal Tanwar (Sohna) were present at the venue, along with GMDA’s Principal Advisor D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary (Town and Country Planning & Urban Estates) A.K. Singh, and Principal Secretary (Power) Shyamal Mishra.

Issuing directions to officials, the Chief Minister said that the pace of ongoing development works in Gurugram should be accelerated to ensure timely delivery of facilities to the people. He also reviewed the decisions taken in the previous GMDA meeting.

Millennium City Metro Station area to Get Relief from Traffic Congestion

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that people will soon get relief from traffic congestion around the Millennium City Metro Station area. To ensure smooth connectivity towards sectors 27, 29, 43, and 44, an underpass will be constructed. The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for this project at the earliest.

He said that the underpass will not only ease traffic pressure around the metro station but also facilitate movement on routes connecting to the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway. The project will greatly benefit local residents, office commuters, and travellers, strengthening the city’s overall traffic network.

Shree Sheetla Mata Medical College to be Operated on PPP Mode; Construction of Civil Hospital to Begin Soon

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on health-related development projects in Gurugram district. The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the proposed Civil Hospital and the operation of Shree Sheetla Mata Medical College. It was decided that a high-level committee will be constituted to explore the operation of Shree Sheetla Mata Medical College under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

The Chief Minister said that strengthening quality healthcare services and modern medical infrastructure is among the top priorities of the government. He directed officials to expedite the completion of these projects to ensure better healthcare facilities for the general public.

He further said that the construction work of the Civil Hospital should be started without delay, incorporating suggestions given by Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh and Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh into the hospital’s design.

Major Sewer Lines to be Transferred to GMDA

Municipal Commissioner of Gurugram Pradeep Dahiya presented a key proposal during the meeting. He informed that the maintenance of sewer and drainage lines above 600 mm laid along GMDA’s master roads is currently handled by the Municipal Corporation, but these need to be transferred to GMDA. He added that bringing these larger sewer lines and drains under GMDA’s integrated management system would enhance the efficiency and coordination of the city’s drainage and sewerage networks.

Presenting a detailed report, he stated that transferring networks such as the 900 mm and above lines from Bus Stand to CRPF Chowk, Sector 4 to Lakshman Vihar Dividing Road, Old Delhi Road, Jyoti Park, Sector 4/7 to MPS, and Basai Road to GMDA would significantly improve the city’s infrastructure performance. Taking note of the proposal, the Chief Minister directed the Principal Advisor to ensure its early implementation.

DPR to be Prepared for New Drain from Gurugram to Palwal via Nuh

The meeting also discussed at length the proposal for constructing a new drain from Gurugram to Palwal via Nuh. Officials informed that the project would help reduce pressure on the Najafgarh Drain and provide a permanent solution for stormwater disposal. The Chief Minister termed this project crucial for Gurugram’s future needs and directed that it be taken up on priority.

He added that the new drain would not only provide a lasting solution to waterlogging issues but also serve as a visionary step in terms of water management and conservation. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned departments to prepare the DPR at the earliest, incorporating suggestions from Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh and Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh to ensure the project’s practicality and comprehensiveness.

Wazirabad Sports Stadium to be Completed on Time

Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh sought details on the progress of the Wazirabad Sports Stadium during the meeting. The Chief Minister said that Gurugram is the economic growth hub of the State, and every development project initiated here is linked to Haryana’s overall progress. He instructed officials to complete all ongoing works in a time-bound manner so that citizens can avail the benefits without delay.
