Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) Landran inaugurated its annual techno-cultural fest, Parivartan 2K25, with great enthusiasm. Themed ‘A Leap from Dreams to Destinies,’ the event showcased a dynamic blend of cultural performances, technical competitions, project exhibitions and career-oriented initiatives.
The fest aimed to provide students with a solid platform to express their creativity, explore emerging technologies and gain insights into future career paths. The inaugural ceremony was graced by Mr. Vivek Aggarwal (IRS), Director, Education Department, Government of Haryana, as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Scientist ‘G’ and Director, C-DAC Mohali, and Mr. Ranjan Sarkar, Group CHRO, LNG Bhilwara.
They were joined by Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran, and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran. In his address, Mr. Sandhu commended CGC’s employees and students for their dedication and hard work, which have contributed to the institution’s successful 25-year legacy.
He emphasized the importance of embracing change, Parivartan, as a catalyst for growth and encouraged the CGC fraternity to align its academic vision with the national agenda of self-reliance by integrating emerging technologies, investing in innovation and fostering a research-driven environment. Mr. Aggarwal urged students to focus on original research and innovation, highlighting the need for India to produce visionary leaders and inventors rather than replicating existing ideas.
He emphasized that transformation begins within and that empowered youth are essential to realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Day one of Parivartan 2K25 saw the participation of over 2,500 students from 30 regional schools, who visited the CGC campus to attend career counseling sessions and explore academic opportunities at the career fair hosted by CGC faculty and students. A major highlight was the project exhibition, which featured innovative solutions from students across departments including Engineering, Management, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, and Hotel Management.
Notable projects included Myco Mazing, a biotechnology initiative converting wheat stubble into biodegradable bio-composites using fungal mycelium; an eco-energy harvester using wheat straw to generate electrical energy for sensors and medical devices; and a smart acoustic-based stray cattle deterrent system developed by Electronics and Communication Engineering students.
Technical competitions across 15 categories, such as Dronethon, Robo War, and Debug Bug Battle, attracted over 400 participants from prestigious institutions including Chitkara University, Amity, Thapar Institute, GNDEC, and SVIET. In recognition of their exceptional service, 67 employees of CGC Landran were honoured with cash rewards and certificates.
The day concluded with an electrifying Sunburn Campus Live DJ Night, where students and guests celebrated the spirit of Parivartan with music and dance.'
