The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) and the ICMR–National Institute for Research in Digital Health and Data Sciences (ICMR-NIRDHS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in the domains of digital health, biomedical data analytics, and artificial intelligence for healthcare.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, and Dr. Mona Duggal, Director, ICMR-NIRDHS. This strategic partnership marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between two premier institutions committed to advancing multidisciplinary research, academic exchange, and translational innovation.

Under this MoU, IIT Ropar and ICMR-NIRDHS will jointly develop and implement PhD and Master’s programs in digital health and data sciences, undertake collaborative research projects in emerging healthcare technologies, submit joint research proposals to national and international funding agencies, and promote knowledge sharing through workshops, training programs, and technology development initiatives.  

The collaboration aims to address pressing public health challenges through data-driven, technology-enabled solutions, while nurturing the next generation of researchers and innovators in the healthcare ecosystem.
