Her Holiness Nirankari RajmataKulwant Kaur Ji, the holy mother of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh JiMaharaj merged into the eternal abode on Friday, August 29, 2014. The body has been placed in repose at the Sant Nirankari SatsangBhawan in Sant Nirankari Colony, Delhi where thousands of devotees are coming from all over India and abroad for her last glimpse (Darshan).The funeral will take place on Sunday at Nirgam Bodh Ghat at 2.00 pm. The last journey of the body will start from Sant Nirankari Colonyat 11.00 am. A special Prernapas congregation in remembrance of the spiritual life of Her Holiness will be held on Monday, September 1, 2014 from 11.00 am onwards at Ground No. 2, Opposite Nirankari Sarovar, Nirankari Chowk, Outer Ring Road, Delhi in the pine presence of His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh JiMaharaj and his gracious spouse Pujya Mata SawinderJi.
Her Holiness Nirankari RajmataKulwant Kaur Ji was born on January 1, 1931 in Kaimalpur (now Pakistan) in the family of Shri Manna Singh Ji and Smt. SomawantiJi. However, she was brought up in Quetta where her father had his business. She loved to visit Gurudwara and listen to Gurbani. She received BrahmGyan (God-knowledge) from Baba Avtar Singh Ji when she was just 8 year old. In April 1947 she was married to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, son of Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji.Ever since her marriage, she served Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji more as her spiritual master, Satguru rather than her father-in-law. With full spirit of faith and devotion, she obeyed each and every word of ShahenshahJi, so much so that she became an example for other devotees.
In 1962, when Shahenshah Baba Avtar Singh Ji passed on the Sant Nirankari Mission's spiritual mentorship to Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, she started sharing the dais with him and participated in Mission's activities all the more whole-heartedly. Devotees of the Mission started addressing her lovingly as Nirankari RajmataJi. She dovetailed her responsibilities at home in such a way that they never came in the way of her assisting Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji in promoting the spiritual message of the Mission. Here also she treated Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji as Satguru first and her spouse later. In April 1980, Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji fell to the bullets of some anti-social orthodox elements and Baba Hardev Singh JiMaharaj took over the spiritual command of the Mission. Her Holiness Nirankari RajmataKulwant Kaur Ji bowed at his feet as a humble devotee even though his mother in worldly relationship.And she showed the same faith and devotion towards Baba Ji till her last breath. At home Nirankari RajmataKulwant Kaur Ji taught her son, (Baba) Hardev Singh Ji and daughters Niranjan, Jagjit, Mohini and Bindiya to assimilate the values of truth, love, tolerance, humility and contentment. She encouraged them to trust God and have faith in Satguru. Like any other devotee, she inspired her children also towards seeking the company of saints (Satsang), remembrance of God (Simran) and selfless service (Sewa).
Rev Nirankari RajmataJi was always a guiding star for women. She counselled every woman devotee to live with love and harmony not only with husband but other members of the family also. There are thousands of examples where she saved the family from breaking or shattering. Her Holiness Nirankari RajmataJi's holy discourses were always marked by the message that every human being must attain God-knowledge for which he or she has to bow at the holy feet of a perfect true master.
