Today, while formally inaugurating the official procurement of paddy at the main grain market of tehsil Ajnala and the purchase center set up at Sudhar under the Market Committee, the MLA of the constituency and former Punjab Cabinet Minister S. Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government is fully committed to procure every single grain of paddy in all 1822 mandis across the state, including the seven grain mandis of the Ajnala region.

He said that special attention has been given to the flood-affected areas, where cleanliness has been ensured and a favorable environment created for smooth paddy sales. He made it clear that farmers already suffering from natural calamity floods will not face unnecessary troubles while bringing paddy for sale in mandis, nor will commission agents, laborers, or traders face any difficulties. Any negligence or corruption by employees/officers will not be tolerated.

At the ceremony marking the beginning of the government’s purchase of paddy heaps in the main grain market of Ajnala, MLA S. Dhaliwal was honored with a shawl, siropa, and memento by Arhtiya Union President Satbir Singh Sandhu. Market Committee Ajnala Chairman Baldev Singh Babbu Chetanpura, District Deputy Mandi Officer-cum-Market Committee Secretary Amardeep Singh Kaurah, and Kabal Singh Sandhu, along with other dignitaries, were also felicitated.

Earlier, while addressing a joint meeting of commission agents, government procurement agencies, Market Committee staff, transporters, and grain laborers at the Market Committee complex, MLA and former minister S. Dhaliwal instructed that officers must personally visit the mandis, evaluate ground-level arrangements, and keep close supervision to ensure any problem is resolved immediately.

Dhaliwal described commission agents as the pillar in ensuring smooth procurement of paddy in the mandis and added that the Mann government is committed to safeguarding the interests of farmers as well as commission agents. He said that the state government has strongly raised the matter of increasing commission and other legitimate demands of commission agents with the central government, proving that it has become their true voice.

On this occasion, senior leader Khushpal Singh Dhaliwal, Nagar Panchayat President Bhatti Jaspal Singh Dhillon, City President Amit Aul, Block President Davinder Singh Sonu, District Mandi Officer Ramandeep Singh Thind, District Food & Civil Supplies Officer Amanjeet Singh Sandhu, Mandi Supervisor Kabal Singh Sandhu, District Markfed Manager Ana Sharma, AFSO Sandeep Singh, Accountant Sandeep Singh Riar, Ajnala Arhtiya Union President Satbir Singh, Sudhar Arhtiya Union President Hardeep Singh, and others were present.
