Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Shyam Singh Rana, said that the government is making continuous efforts to promote natural farming. Farmers are being encouraged for this, and those adopting natural farming are being provided indigenous cows by the state government.

He said that dedicated mandis for the purchase of natural farming crops will be established in Gurugram and Hisar. A committee will also be constituted to fix prices for such crops. He added that the Haryana government has also decided to commence paddy procurement one week earlier than usual, and all arrangements in the mandis are complete.

The Agriculture Minister was speaking as the Chief Guest at the PM-Pranam Kisan Marathon organised under the nationwide special programme organised by Hindustan Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited at Karnal on Sunday. He flagged off the marathon and later visited the exhibition. MLA, Indri Sh. Ramkumar Kashyap was also present.

He said that to commemorate the birthday of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, a nationwide special campaign is being organised from September 17 to October 2, 2025 with special activities and awareness programmes.Highlighting the significance of the marathon, Sh. Rana said it is important to maintain the health of the soil.

Excessive use of urea fertilizer and other pesticides on crops is degrading the health of the soil. He further emphasised that to make India self-reliant, it is essential to use indigenous products so that the nation’s wealth remains within the country, thereby strengthening the economy.

While addressing the media, he said that such programmes provide farmers with valuable knowledge about modern agricultural techniques.
