As part of the ongoing Seva Parv 2025, Deputy Commissioner Samba Ayushi Sudan inaugurated a massive plantation drive at the Cremation Ground, here today. The initiative was taken by the District Administration Samba in coordination with Lions Club Samba.

At the inaugural ceremony, the DC planted three saplings of spiritual and medicinal value, symbolizing both ecological responsibility and cultural reverence. Officials from the district administration and members of Lions Club also participated by planting trees across the premises of the cremation ground.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of community-driven green initiatives, stressing that plantation drives not only enhance the environment but also reflect a commitment towards sustainable development and collective responsibility.

The tree plantation is one of the important components of Seva Parv 2025, which began yesterday focusing on Seva (service), Swachhta (cleanliness) and Samarpan (dedication). The plantation drive at the cremation ground was envisioned as a model to converge environmental conservation with cultural and social values, encouraging citizens to actively take part in greening efforts.

The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers of the district administration, members of Lions Club Samba and locals making it a collective step towards a cleaner and greener tomorrow. Prominent among those present were ADC Jagdish Singh, ACR Ajay Bharti, GM DIC Gurpreet Singh, CEO MC Yodhraj, officers, members of Lions Club and locals.
