New cultural chapter has begun between Kurukshetra & Bali through International Gita Mahotsav: Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand

Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj said the International Gita Mahotsav in Bali, Indonesia, has opened a new chapter of cultural heritage between Kurukshetra and Bali. Along with this, new relations have also been formed between Indonesia and India. 

To promote these cultural values, a proposal has also been put forward by the Governor of Indonesia to develop a Cultural Centre in the sacred land of Kurukshetra in the name of Maharishi Markandeya.Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 6th International Gita Mahotsav in Bali, Indonesia. 

Prior to this, Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, Haryana Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs (Southern Region) Dr. Neena Malhotra, Commissioner and Secretary of the Haryana Information, Public Relations and Languages Department Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal, and CGI Bali Dr. Shashank Vikram offered reverence to the holy scripture Gita at the closing ceremony of the 6th International Gita Mahotsav and formally inaugurated the programme.

In this programme, young artists from Indonesia gave excellent cultural performances under the guidance of Padma Shri Indra Udayana, and in the evening, devotional music was presented beautifully, captivating everyone. Before this closing ceremony, Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj presented the holy scripture Gita to Bali’s Governor I Wayan Koster at his residence.

Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj expressed gratitude to the Government and citizens of Indonesia and said that under the aegis of the State Government, Kurukshetra Development Board, and GIEO Gita, the 6th International Gita Mahotsav was successfully organized in Bali, Indonesia. This was not only a festival but also a medium to strengthen the cultural ties between India and Indonesia. 

With this, a new beginning of good relations has started between India and Indonesia.In the closing ceremony of this festival, the youth of Indonesia astonished everyone by presenting a good recitation of the 12th chapter of the Gita in Sanskrit during the Global Gita Recitation. At the conclusion of this festival, devotees from different countries participated in the Maha Aarti of the holy scripture Gita on the seashore.

Haryana Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma congratulated and extended good wishes to the organizers on the successful organization of the 6th International Gita Mahotsav in Bali, Indonesia, and said that from the land of Indonesia, the teachings of the holy scripture Gita will reach every corner of the world. 

Several achievements were witnessed during this three-day Gita Mahotsav. During this festival, the proposal that came from Bali, Indonesia, to build a Cultural Centre in Kurukshetra in the name of Maharishi Markandeya will be implemented by the government. 

He said inspired by Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj, the State Government has allocated a budget of Rs 80 crore to listed gaushalas. Since 2014, this government has done remarkable work for the protection and promotion of cows. Representatives from the UK, USA, Spain, and many other countries participated in this festival and made every moment of this festival memorable. 

For the first time, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, will celebrate the International Gita Mahotsav in 40 countries, and more than 23 scholars from different countries will be invited for three days to the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra. A special delegation from the Ministry of External Affairs, including Dr. Neena Malhotra, Secretary (Southern Region), and the Joint Secretary, participated in the International Gita Mahotsav in Bali.

Dr. Neena Malhotra, Secretary (Southern Region) of the Ministry of External Affairs, said 23 scholars from different countries will arrive at the Kurukshetra International Gita Mahotsav this year on behalf of the Ministry of External Affairs. Along with this, the Ministry of External Affairs will organize programmes of the Kurukshetra International Gita Mahotsav in 40 countries.

At the closing ceremony of the International Gita Mahotsav, Bali Senator Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Arya and Padma Shri Indra Udayana were presented mementos on behalf of the State Government and KDB. On this occasion, Chairperson of Haryana State Women Commission Renu Bhatia, Chairperson Sushma Gupta, Mayor of Karnal Renu Bala Gupta, Honorary Secretary Upendra Singhal, Chairman of 48 Kos Monitoring Committee Madan Mohan Chhabra, along with other dignitaries were present.
