A high-level presentation meeting was held in Mumbai today under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to formulate a comprehensive policy for cancer treatment across the state.Minister of State Madhuri Misal and senior officials from the Department of Medical Education and Pharmaceuticals were present.
CM Fadnavis directed the department to design an effective framework that ensures comprehensive cancer services, including diagnosis, daycare, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy units in every district.
He emphasized the urgent need to strengthen infrastructure and ordered the immediate completion of the Saint Tukdoji Maharaj Cancer Hospital in Nagpur, assuring that the required funds will be made available.
He also announced that Shri Sai Sansthan, Shirdi, will be requested to set up a state-of-the-art cancer hospital.To strengthen advanced treatment, a cloud-based command center (L3 level) will be established, ensuring fast diagnosis and effective care for patients.
Chief Minister Fadnavis stressed that a strong cancer policy will bring uniform, accessible, and quality healthcare to the people of Maharashtra.
