Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Saturday held a public meeting and listened to the problems of the people.Sond directed the officials of the Water Supply and Sewage Board to clean the sewage using machines from ward 13 and 14.
The residents have complained that the sewage system had been lying non-functional and MC had not carried out any cleaning.Residents of New Friends Colony also informed Minister that there has been no sewage system in their colony, nor have the streets been constructed.
He assured them that he would check to determine whether the colony is legal or illegal, and action would be taken accordingly as soon as possible. He alsp stated that the current councilors of Ward No. 13 and 14, who are affiliated with the other parties, have failed to perform their duties towards the people.
During the meeting, the people lauded the initiative wholeheartedly and said that such meetings should be held regularly in the constituency so that people can get relief from harassment and their work can be done on a priority basis.
