Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Director (In-charge) Shri Sunil Yadav announced that the Corporation has launched two major schemes—SPREE-2025 and AMNESTY-2025—aimed at expanding social security coverage and providing relief to industries from the burden of litigation. He was addressing a seminar-cum-press conference held today at the PWD Rest House, Gurugram.
Shri Yadav said that these initiatives will give employers an opportunity to register their establishments and employees with ESIC, while workers will gain access to health benefits more conveniently. SPREE-2025 Scheme to Run Till 31 December 2025.
The Scheme for Promoting Registration of Employers and Employees (SPREE) will remain in force until 31 December 2025. Under this scheme, industries and employees not yet registered with ESIC can enroll without being burdened by past dues.
Employers can register their establishments and employees through the ESI Portal, Shram Suvidha Portal, and MCA Portal. Employers registering under SPREE will be considered covered from either the date of registration or the date declared by them.
Employees registered under the scheme will also begin receiving ESI benefits from the date of registration.
Emphasis on Voluntary Compliance
Shri Yadav highlighted that the scheme is based on voluntary compliance rather than punitive action, thereby reducing litigation, encouraging formal registration, and fostering trust and cooperation between employers and employees.
During the seminar, representatives from industries including M/s Richa Global Exports Pvt. Ltd., M/s Pearl Global India Ltd., and M/s Richaco Exports Pvt. Ltd. raised their queries regarding the schemes, which were addressed and resolved on the spot.
AMNESTY Scheme-2025 for Dispute Resolution
The Director (In-charge) further informed that the Corporation has also approved the AMNESTY Scheme-2025, a one-time dispute resolution mechanism. The scheme will be applicable from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, providing settlement for disputes related to damages, interest, and coverage under the ESI Act.
The objective is to reduce litigation, promote compliance, and provide relief to employers while strengthening the implementation of the Act.
Industry Welcomes the Initiatives
Representatives of various industrial organizations present at the event welcomed the schemes, noting that they would provide relief to both small and large enterprises while ensuring employees gain easier access to social security and healthcare benefits.
