Punjab Panchayat Minister Mr. Tarunpreet Singh Sond visited Fazilka district today to review the ongoing relief operations in flood-affected areas. After holding a meeting with district officials, the Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is ensuring that every affected and needy family receives timely relief assistance.
Mr. Sond described the floods as a natural calamity but assured that the government stands firmly with the people in this difficult time. He stated that all administrative teams in the district have been directed to safely evacuate residents from the affected areas.
He further informed that ration supplies and cattle feed are also being delivered to interior villages through boats.The Minister said that several relief camps are operational across the district, where all necessary facilities are being provided to affected families by the Punjab Government.
He also announced that he will personally visit the affected areas on Saturday to take stock of the situation.Deputy Commissioner Ms. Amarpreeet Kaur Sandhu briefed the Minister about the ground realities and apprised him of the ongoing relief efforts being carried out by the district administration.
On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Gurmeet Singh, former MLA Gurpreet Singh G.P. (President SC Wing Punjab), Mr. Chuspinder Singh Chahal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Subhash Chander, and District Development and Panchayat Officer Neeru Garg were also present
